Virginia M. Bordonaro, 89, of New Castle passed away on November 23, 2019 at Quality of Life Services of New Castle. Born on July 23, 1930 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Mary Perretta DeMarco. On April 7, 1956, she married her beloved husband, Philip “Sheiky” J. Bordonaro, Jr. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2011.
Virginia had worked for many years as a Crossing Guard for the City of New Castle.Virginia was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Virginia was very active in both the church and the school at St. Vitus. She enjoyed baking and cooking. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Virginia’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.
Virginia is survived by her two sons, Philip Bordonaro, III and Gary T. Bordonaro both of New Castle, her former daughter-in-law, Toni Bordonaro Ingram, and her husband Denny, two grandchildren, Michael Bordonaro and David Bordonaro, and five great-grandchildren, Morgan, Connor, Bobby, Jordan and Daniel.
In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas DeMarco and Domenick DeMarco, four sisters, Olympia Domenick, Jennie DeMarco, Caroline DeFelice, and Angeline Pugliese.
Visitation will be on Tuesday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 South Mill St. A Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m conducted by Deacon John Carran. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
