Victor L. Balogh, 63, of Hoover Road, New Castle, passed away the evening of Dec. 15, 2021, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Victor was born on Feb. 24, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio. He was the son of the late Thomas and Ann (Carrocce) Balogh. He moved to New Castle in 1989.
Victor was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, class of 1976. He was of the Roman Catholic faith. He worked all his life as a diesel mechanic, working for R&R Mack of New Castle and for Austintown Township in Ohio as their maintenance manager.
Victor loved spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed riding his Harley and going to Foxburg with his wife. He was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, and papa.
He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Cynthia (Wilson) Balogh; son, John E. (Shannon) Balogh of New Castle; daughter, Sarah M. (Adam) Data of New Castle; two brothers, Dennis (Anne) Balogh of Austintown, Ohio, and Thomas Balogh of Canfield, Ohio; seven sisters, Pamela Ginnis of Columbus, Ohio, Judy (Robert) Halko and Linda (Jim) DiFrangia, both of Austintown, Ohio, Theresa (Clyde) Bliss, and Rita (Dr. Greg) Balturshots, both of Columbus, Ohio, Lisa (Richard) Lawton of Canfield, Ohio, and Roseann (Dr. Chris) Nickison of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren, Scarlet Irene Balogh, Bristol Angeline Balogh, Austin Michael Data and Eli Victor Data; and his beloved little dog, Daisy.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. A Blessing Service will immediately follow visitation at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Dr. Joseph Ross of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate.
Eternal rest grant unto Victor, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
