Thomas F. Verdi, 54, of 1161 Maple Lane, Pulaski, passed away unexpectedly the morning of Aug. 26, 2020, at Sharon Regional Hospital. Thomas was born on Aug. 31, 1965, in Ashtabula, Ohio. He was the son of the late Frank J. and Florence J. (McMann) Verdi. He was married to James S. Fazio who survives at home. They were married for 17 years.
Mr. Verdi was of Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish. He was a graduate of Ashtabula High School, class of 1983. Following graduation, he continued his education becoming a licensed funeral director at Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, and earning a bachelor of science degree at Point Park University in Pittsburgh. Thomas also was a licensed cosmetologist. He worked as a funeral director and pre-need manager for the Noga Funeral Home Inc. for the past year. Thomas was very personal and touched all the families he worked with and enjoyed serving them.
Thomas enjoyed spending time cooking with his mother-in-law, Gloria, for family gatherings. He loved his animals, dog (Eli) and his cats (Sushi and Sammy). He really enjoyed spending time at home with his family and friends.
In addition to his husband, James, he is survived by his son, Josh (Rachel) Verdi of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Larry R. (Mary) Verdi of Florida; sister, Marceia J. Ovak of Ashtabula, Ohio; a granddaughter, Aria of Columbus; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Verdi was preceded in death by his parents.
A private visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. Immediately following, a Blessing Service will be celebrated at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Seminarian Merv Knieriem from Holy Spirit Parish will officiate.
