Thomas E. Pugh, age 74, of New Castle, passed away the early morning of May 4, 2023, at his residence after an extended illness. Born December 12, 1948, in New Castle, he was the son of Harold E. and Patricia A. (O’Leary) Pugh.
After his high school graduation, Tom attended the New Castle Business College where he received his associates’ degree. He served his country with the U.S. Navy. Tom was a long-time employee of Penn Power as a lineman until his retirement when he then became a driver for the Lawrence County Blind Association.
In addition to his wife, Gayle (Mansfield) Pugh and his mother, Patricia Pugh, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Ann King of New Castle and Erin Pugh of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sisters, Nancy (Patrick) Pruent and Judy Robinson both of New Castle; two grandchildren, Hannah Delon and Austin King; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog Millie.
He was preceded in death by his father and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
There will be a private blessing service officiated by Seminarian Dan Roberts of Holy Spirit Parish at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory of New Castle.
Eternal rest grant unto Tom, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
