Our angel on earth has gone home. Teresa “Terri” Valentina Morrone, age 95, of New Castle, PA, passed away peacefully on May 12, 022 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Known as wife, mom, Grandma, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Terri was a cherished and precious gift to those who knew her. Born on April 24, 1927, in New Castle, Terri was the daughter of the late John and Josephine Carbon Romeo. On June 8, 1968, she married her beloved husband, Anthony J. “Mo” Morrone, and the two spent over 41 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on November 18, 2009.
In her earlier years, Terri worked as a ward secretary for Jameson Hospital and an associate for Troutman’s until she began her family in 1968. She belonged to Bessemer High School’s Class of 1947, was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Polish Falcons and Jack & Jill Social Club and was a past Treasurer of the Shenango High School Band Boosters.
Terri loved to cook, travel, play bingo, visit the casino, read magazines, play crosswords, watch game shows, and spend time with her family and friends. In her early years, Terri took ceramics, cake decorating, sewing and furniture classes. She also entered a writing contest and earned a published poem. Most recently, Terri enjoyed visiting with her family and adored being with her grandchildren. Her face “lit up” with joy and happiness each and every time that she saw them.
Terri is survived by her daughter, Anissa Fracul and husband, Scott, of New Castle, PA; brothers, Frank Romeo of Wilmington, NC, and Rocco Romeo of New Castle; and grandchildren, Alisa and Ryker Fracul.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Romeo, Robert P. Romeo, Sr., and Vince Romeo; and sisters, Rose Frabotta and Mary Ross.
Though she will be sadly missed, her family believes that Terri was welcomed home by her late and loving husband, “Mo,” her parents, siblings, and other late family and friends who were joyfully waiting for her.
Visitation will be on Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A Blessing Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto Terri, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
