Shirley A. Perry, 83, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of September 20, 2022 at Haven Convalescent Home. Born on April 15, 1939 in New Castle, Shirley was the daughter of the late Charles and Lena McIlltrot Mele.
Shirley had worked in the customer service department for Fashion Bug clothing store for several years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish. Shirley enjoyed doing needlepoint and photography. She also enjoyed listening to music on her numerous collections of vinyl records. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Shirley’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.
Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Lori Dawn Cummins (Thomas, III) and Shannon Prusaitis all of New Castle, five grandchildren, Samantha Johnson, Jared Cummins, Alexis Cummins, Jessica Bean and Chicago Cummins and eight great-grandchildren.
Honoring her wishes the services are private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Eternal rest grant unto Shirley, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
