Sara A. Perrotta, 74, of New Castle passed away the morning of December 8, 2021 at UPMC Jameson. Born on February 18, 1947 in New Castle, Sara was was the daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Capasso) Spinelli. Sara is survived by her beloved husband, Samuel Perrotta, who she married on September 5, 1970.
Sara was a retired employee of the New Castle Area School District. In her younger years, Sara worked as a certified beautician and owned her own beauty shop. She enjoyed going to the casinos in Atlantic City, shopping on the weekends with her husband and attending Mass. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Sara’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, cooking and baking for them and attending her grandchildren’s activities.
In addition to her husband, Sara is survived by her children, Dr. Maria Perrotta, Michele Shettler, two grandsons, Sammy and Brady, her granddaughter, Mallory, two nephews, two nieces and four great-nieces.
In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine (Spinelli) Anderson and JoAnn Spinelli and her aunt, Mary Capasso.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Joseph McCaffrey, Pastor will officiate. Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoleum. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.
Eternal rest grant unto Sara, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the ssouls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of GGod, rest in peace. Amen.
