Samuel F. D’Ambrosi, 78, of Hubbard, Ohio passed away the morning of December 5, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born on March 12, 1942 in New Castle to the late Salvatore and Filomena Vitelli D’Ambrosi. On November 25, 1959 Sam married his beloved wife, the former Kathleen Baxter. She survives at home.
Sam worked for B.P. Oil Company and Sam enjoyed being outdoors and doing lawn maintenance. He was an avid sports and horse racing fan. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Sam’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Sam is survived by his children, Toni (Al) Newyear of Sagamore Hills, Ohio, Mikki D’Ambrosi of Hubbard, Ohio and Sam (Maria) D’Ambrosi of Brooklyn Heights, Ohio, two grandchildren, Alexa Newyear and Breana D’Ambrosi, his sister-in-laws, Darlene Radu (Chuck), Theada, Nancy and Connie, brother-in-laws, Jim Baxter, Dick Colaluca, and Joe Pecarro and Uncle to many.
In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his brothers, Pete, Anthony, Reggie, and Bernard D’Ambrosi, his sisters, Rosaline Frabotta, Sally Colaluca, Ora Pecarro and Jackie Conti.
A private service will be held at Parkside Mausoleum. Father Brendan Dawson of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.
Lord God, you are attentive to the voice of our pleading. Give Samuel eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on him forever. Let us find in your Son comfort in our sadness, certainty in our doubt, and courage to live through this hour. Make our faith strong through Christ our Lord. Amen.
