Ronald E. Valentine, Sr. 80, of New Castle, passed away the evening of May 22, 2022 at UPMC Jameson. Born in New Castle on May 31, 1941, Ron was the son of the late Emilio and Onorina Pasquarelli Valentine. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-three years, the former Carol Pfeifer Moldovan.
Ron was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site. He was self-employed and worked in the construction and flooring business. He also owned and operated three retail shops with his wife, Carol. Ron enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone. In earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and custom woodworking. Ron was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Ron is survived by his wife, Carol, his children, Ronnie (Christine) Valentine, Kent (Tracy) Moldovan, Lori Tennant, Kimberly Ryder and Dr. Jeffrey (Jan) Moldovan; his nieces, Renae (Dave) Radcliff, Amy (Frank) Pidro, Noreen Mazzocca; his sister-in-law, Sally Valentine; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his daughters, Debbie Egner and Patty Jo McConnell; brothers, Raymond Valentine, John Valentine, Adalgio “Ted” Valentine; and his sisters, Emma Mazzocca, Mary Dewyer and Florida “Flo” Morella.
Visitation is Friday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St followed by a Blessing Service at 3:00 pm at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Father Brendan Dawson of Holy Spirit Parish.
Eternal rest grant unto Ron, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
