Robert S. Predwitch, 83, of Tony Street, died Friday, February 2, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. He was born on January 23, 1941, in New Castle, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Hudak) Predwitch. Mr. Predwitch married Antoinetta E. ‘Toni’ (Norris) Predwitch on October 25, 1968; she in New Castle.
Robert served in the United States Navy on the USS Bonnie Richard in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and in the Air National Guard. He worked at Babcock & Wilcox as a machinist for 12 years, and then YDC in the maintenance department, retiring after 10 years there.
He was a member of the NRA, VFW, Eagles, American Legion, and the Lawrence County Sportsman’s Club. A member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vincent de Paul worship site, Mr. Predwitch was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed computer repair and riding motorcycles and four wheelers. He was always ready to help a friend, no job was too big or too small, “No problem”.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by, one sister, Jacqueline Nowak of Tucson, AZ, two brothers-in-law, Walter Norris and his wife, Diana (Alfera) and Michael Norris and his wife, Linda (Sater); three nieces, Michelle Natale and her husband, Jeff, Leanna Litrenta and her husband, Joseph, and Shelby Norris.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one uncle, Steve Hudak.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A blessing service will be celebrated Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home. Father Ben Barr of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Rites Tuesdaysurvives, February 6, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto Robert, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
