Robert Patrick McCormick, 94, of E. Fairfield Avenue died Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at his residence in New Castle. He was born in Oil City, PA on May 6, 1929, the son of the late Bernard and Eleanor (Sumosky) McCormick. Mr. McCormick was married to the late Mary (D’Augustino) McCormink, who died on March 15, 2015.
He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish. Having served as a United States Marine Veteran the Korean Era, he then worked as a lathe operator for Commercial Spearing & Stamping, retiring after 42 years. He was a member of Eintract Club and enjoyed bowling and golf.
He is survived by four children, Kim McCormick (Jerry Bigley) of Grand Junction, CO; Patricia DeCarbo (William) of Volant; Robert McCormick (Marlene) and Adam Brigham (Lindsay) both of New Castle; one sister, Patricia Parusa of Florida; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.
A Blessing Service will be celebrated Friday, September 8, 2023 at 5:30 pm at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
Eternal rest grant unto Robert, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
