Richard C. Graham, age 99, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Feb. 23, 2021 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born Feb. 15, 1922, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Wentworth and Effie (Wilcox) Graham. On June 8, 1943, he married Helen E. (Callahan) Graham, who preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 2018.
Richard was a 1939 graduate of Union High School and served in the United States Army during World War II. For 40 years, he was employed by Keystone Lawrence as a truck driver. Richard was a member of Harmony Moose league where he loved to play horseshoes and was inducted into the Horseshoe hall of fame. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker site of Holy Spirit Parish.
Richard is survived by his children, a daughter Susan Loette (Jim) Lawrence of New Castle, PA, and a son Rod Graham of Cambridge, OH; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by a son, Richard J. Graham, a daughter Marilyn Kay Sager, and daughter-in-law, Sharyn Graham, a brother, Edgar Graham and five sisters, Margerie Graham, Evelyn Day, June Duczyk, Geraldine Lepisto and Marie Good.
In keeping with his wishes services will be private. Entombment will be at Castle View Mausoleum. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
