Paul C. (Dud) Lidak, 82, of New Castle passed away the morning of December 14, 2020 at his residence. Paul was born June 16, 1938 in New Castle. He was the son of the late Paul G. and Bertha K. (Sobczak) Lidak.
Paul was Roman Catholic and attended Holy Spirit Parish. He was a graduate of Shenango High School, class of 1956. Following graduation, Paul enlisted in the United States Army on May 15, 1957 in Pittsburgh, PA. Paul was a member of the Second Division Battery D, and the 16th Artillery APO 386. He earned the rank of Private First Class (E-2) on January 13, 1959. Mr. Lidak was Honorably Discharged on May 8, 1959 at Fort Dix, NJ. Paul was then placed on Army Reserve and Honorably Discharged on January 13, 1963. He retired after 35 years of service as a Public Works Inspector for the City of Torrance, CA. He was a member of the Polish Falcons, Nest 146, long standing member of the Mahoning Sportsman Association, and Slovak Club. Paul also enjoyed going to the casinos and gun shows.
Mr. Lidak is survived by his sister-in-law, Barbara Lidak of New Castle; nieces and nephew, Laurie A. Lidak, Paula J. Chmura, Jodi L.(Russell P.) Uram, all of New Castle; and great nephews, Anthony Uram, Andrew Uram, Adam Chmura, and Bryan Chmura.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leonard S. Lidak; and cousin, Josephine Tresnowsky. Private Visitation for immediate family will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 Mill Street New Castle. A Private Blessing service will be held immediately following in the funeral home. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in SS Philip and James Cemetery.
