Patrick D. Flannery, 31, was born on April 18, 1991 in Ellwood City, the son of Patrick Flannery Sr. and Kari (Dave) Altman.
He graduated from Shenango High School in 2009. In 2012, Patrick enlisted in the U.S Army as a 13F, Fire Support Specialist and has been assigned to the U.S Army Central since November of 2018. Staff Sgt. Flannery’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon.
Patrick was a man full of life with an amazing smile that captured the hearts of everyone he met. He loved spending time with his family and always made sure they were having fun. He loved the outdoors and was an avid Notre Dame fan. He had such a loving impact on his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Miranda (Castro) Flannery; two children, Emma A. and James P.; sister, Amber L. (Bobby) Zarilla; stepbrother, Senior Airman David (Payden) Altman; nieces, Eliana Zarilla and Jane Altman; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Susan Hepler, and Jackie and Richard Murray; great-grandparents, Donald Sr. and Mary Hepler and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Patrick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Dorothy Flannery.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. A Blessing Service will take place immediately following the visitation. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial and Full Military Honors will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
Eternal rest grant unto Patrick, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
