Patricia G. Dunkerley

September 12, 1941 to September 19, 2019

Patricia Graham Dunkerley, 78, of Canfield, Ohio, died the morning of September 19, 2019 in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. Born September 12, 1941 in New Castle, she was the daughter of J. Russell and Lucy (Nych) Graham. Patricia married her beloved husband and devoted caregiver, George O. Dunkerley, on November 27, 1965. She often said she would never have made it this last year without him by her side.

Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marlene A. and Alvin Walters of Grove City and Sydney and Richard Gargasz of New Castle; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard B. and Sandra Graham, of New Castle and Albert L. and Cate Graham of West Pittsburg.

She was a loving aunt to three nieces and two nephews, four great nieces and three great nephews. She became a second mother to her two nieces, Sherri DeWitt and Shannon Angelo, who will miss her dearly. Patricia was first and foremost when anyone was in need. She loved being in the mountains with her husband where they owned a cabin that became a retreat for one and all. She was a gifted stamper and card maker and her cards will become a keepsake for all members of her family. She loved nature, gardening, flowers, and had many bird friends. Her family was blessed by her presence at her 78th birthday celebration which was on September 14th. It was her parting gift to all of them.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21, from 10:00-12:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Father Philip Farrell officiating.
