Patricia Ann Rich passed away peacefully the morning of March 9th, 2022 surrounded by her children and family. Patricia was born January 7, 1943, to Angelo and Carmella Ambrosia of Lowellville, Ohio. Patricia was a wife to Leonard for over 37 years until his passing on January 6, 2007.
Patty was a 1961 graduate of Lowellville High School. The proud Rocket was one of 32 in her graduating class. She furthered her education at Kent State University graduating in 1964.
As a lifelong educator, many knew Patricia affectionately as Mrs. Rich. She began her teaching career at the Austintown schools before a lengthy career teaching multiple grade levels within the Neshannock Twp. School District at Neshannock Memorial Elementary School. Patty had a strong circle of friends and enjoyed many ravioli dinners at her house sharing their stories and exchanging memories. A constant servant to others, she was known for saying “I don’t mean to be a burden on anybody.” She was a burden to no one and a blessing to all.
Patricia was mother to Leonard (wife Monica) Rich, Jonathon Rich, and Lisa Rich. She was grandmother (affectionately known as gram or grammy) to Nicolas Rich, Emma Rich, Olivia Rich, Alexis Prejsnar, and Sam Myers. She was the sister of Gerald (Linda) Ambrosia and Rosemary (Joe) Antonucci. She was also a sister-in-law to Lenore Sumner. Patricia was a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings who died as infants; brothers John Ambrosia and Robert Ambrosia.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Rd. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial taking place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022, at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Joseph McCaffrey will officiate. Entombment will be at Parkside Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto Patty, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
