To learn about our feasibility study, copy the code on the left to your cell phone for my video message about where we are going from here. The video is also available on the homepage at hsplc.org and on our YouTube channel at: https://bit.ly/macmessages1
The video will also be emailed to everyone on our Flocknote list. Thank you to everyone who participated in our outreach effort last Saturday to provide socks and shoes, free medical exams and flu shots to the needy! All who came also received a free bag lunch and winter clothing!
I’m very grateful to Sister Annie, who organized the whole event with her army of volunteers. “Our hearts to your soles” is an amazing service to the poor. I am also very grateful to Dr. Conti and his wife, Carol, for allowing our community to benefit from their generosity. Red Wing shoes provided brand new boots and shoes. Over 200 pairs were distributed. See photo below.
While this amazing outreach was occurring at St. Mary’s, our Food Pantry at St. Joe’s was distributing over 100 meals to the poor—as they do every week! Thank you to our loving volunteers who make this very important charity possible. Thank you to all of you who donate food as well as toiletries and other items to help the most vulnerable among us. This is truly putting our faith into action. This is what it means to be a Catholic Parish!
Being a Catholic Disciple of Jesus Christ means more than just receiving the sacraments regularly and praying. It also means putting our faith into action through service! I am very proud of all of you and the beautiful impact you are having on the wider community! It warmed my heart to see our middle school and high school students participating! Thank you to parents who set a powerful example by encouraging your children to participate and by participating yourselves!
Holy Spirit Parish is bearing great fruit in the name of the Lord Jesus! There are many diabolical forces fighting against the Lord in this world. How good it is for us to be part of His family to spread truth, love and mercy!
Please see the back page of this bulletin for an exciting report from Friends of Catholic Education.
Our Mass of Remembrance will be held Tuesday, November 2nd, in St. Vitus Church at 6:00 pm.
