Nick Dan Bloise, 96, of Neshannock Township passed away on February 14, 2021 in Marco Island, FL at the home of his daughter. Nick was born on February 6, 1925 to the late Antonio and Rosa Ippolito Bloise. On August 3, 1949 Nick married his beloved wife, the former Irene Stofcik. She preceded him in death on April 3, 2011.
Nick worked for Mooney Brothers in New Castle, Pa., after his discharge from the service until his retirement. For many years Nick was a volunteer firefighter with the Neshannock Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Teamsters. Nick proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He saw combat in Europe during WWII as a Sargent with the 163rd Army Corp of Engineers.
Nick enjoyed hunting with his brothers and nephews, horse racing, fishing, traveling with his family and gardening. He was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates and was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Saint Camillus Site.
Nick is survived by his daughters, Diane (George) Baker of Marco Island, FL, and Saundra (Donald) Brett of Poland, OH, his brother, Frank Bloise of New Castle, three grandchildren, Heath D. Bartley (Kristie) of Charlotte, NC, Lauren (Keith) Lantz of Winona Lake, IN, Stephanie (Michael) Eilers of Metairie, LA, and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, and wife, Nick was preceded in death by five brothers, James, John, Joe, Sam and Andy Bloise and one sister, Mary Viggiano.
A private service will be held at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Lord God, you are attentive to the voice of our pleading. Give Nick eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on him forever. Let us find in your Son comfort in our sadness, certainty in our doubt, and courage to live through this hour. Make our faith strong through Christ our Lord. Amen.
