Michael Jude Leshinsky passed away the morning of February 28, 2022 at his home after a sudden illness. Born in New Castle on December 24, 1970, Michael was the son of Steve and Dena LaMarco Leshinsky. His mother survives in New Castle.
Michael, a life-long resident of New Castle, attended St. Vitus School and was a 1989 graduate of Kennedy Catholic High School in Sharon. He attended and graduated from Wheeling Jesuit College with two degrees, one in Criminology and a second in History. Michael was an EMT for Noga Ambulance Service. Hel was a certified firefighter with the State of Pennsylvania and volunteered with Neshannock Volunteer Fire Department after his college graduation. He worked for several years in the State of Pennsylvania’s youth criminal justice system, including the Youth Development Center. Michael then completed a five-year apprentice program to become a certified electrician and worked on various jobs throughout the tri-state area out of the IBEW, Local 712. He was also a certified welder and had various certifications including high voltage splicing, rigging, OSHA 30 and END.
Michael leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Dena; his son, Michael J. Leshinsky, II of New Castle, his girlfriend, Jodi Patterson, also of New Castle, his sister, Ann-Margaret (Jamie) Lambo of Canton, OH; his brother Matthew T. Leshinsky and his fiancé, Kelly Fee, both of Port Charlotte, FL; his niece and goddaughter, Ann Therese Lambo of Pittsburgh, PA and nephew Paul Lambo, of Canton, OH; and his godmother, Marlene Ballinger of Temecula, CA. Michael is also survived by numerous cousins and life-long friends.
Michael was predeceased by his father, Steve Leshinsky, his maternal grandparents, Romeo and Margaret LaMarco, his paternal grandparents, Steve and Anna Leshinsky, his uncle Ronnie LaMarco and uncle and aunt, John and Mary Ellen Leshinsky. There are no calling hours and services will be private. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Fr. Brendan Dawson of Holy Spirit ParishInterment will be at St. Vitus Cemetery.
