Michael A. DiMuccio, Sr., passed away the evening of February 12, 2023 at his residence. Born on December 11, 1941 in New Castle, Michael was the son of the late Ralph A. DiMuccio, Sr. and Louise DeCarbo DiMuccio. On June 23, 1961 Michael married his beloved wife, the former Judith R. Rue. After fifty-five years together, she preceded him in death on March 10, 2018.
In early years, Michael began his truck driving career with Galaxy Cheese Company, then with UPS and retired driving for California Street Rods. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Elks Club. Michael had a passion for mechanics, he loved working on, restoring and driving hot rods, classic cars and motorcycles. He always enjoyed having a beer with friends. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Michael is survived by his two children, Michael DiMuccio, Jr. (Sherry) and Christine (Nicholas, Jr.) Amabile all of New Castle; three sisters, Madeline Davelli of Hermitage, Patricia Iwanejko of New Wilmington and Concetta Mayle of Hubbard, OH; four grandchildren, David DiMuccio (Sommer), Ashley Amabile, Taylor Peak (Frank Attisano) and Allyson Amabile and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Michael was preceded in death by his grandson, Nicholas Austin Amabile, and three brothers, Domenick “Chubby” DiMuccio, Ralph “Bo” DiMuccio and Thomas A. DiMuccio.
Visitation will be on Thursday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A Blessing Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Father Aaron Kriss of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Entombment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
Eternal rest grant unto Michael, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
