Merida K. Murawski, 80 of New Castle passed away the morning of Nov. 29, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. Merida was born on April 23, 1941, in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Carol (Hutchison) Reider. She was married to the late George Murawski. He preceded her in death in 2018.
Merida was of Roman Catholic Faith and a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus Site. Mrs. Murawski was a graduate of New Castle High School. She was a member of the Polish Falcons, an avid tennis player, and enjoyed cooking and baking, especially holiday dinners.
Merida is survived by her brother, Herman (Lisa) Reider of Holden, Massachusetts; sister, Margaret Reider of Rochester; nieces, Victoria and Emily; nephew, Ryan; a brother-in-law, Gerald Neely; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Merida was preceded in death by her sister, Judith Neely.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. The family asks that everyone in attendance please wear masks. A Blessing Service will be held immediately following visitation at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in SS Philip and James Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto Merida, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. Let her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
