Mary M. Perrotta, age 85, formerly of New Castle, more recently of Port St. Lucie, FL., passed away the evening of Dec. 4, 2021, at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce, FL. Born March 25, 1936, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Panella) Perretta. On Sept. 8, 1956, she married her beloved husband of 60 years, Nick P. Perrotta. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2017.
Mary was a high school graduate and a devoted homemaker until her children were grown. She was employed by Supreme Company, as a bookkeeper, and for several years she was a private caterer. Mary enjoyed crocheting, cooking, dancing, ceramics and going to the casino. She was a member of St. Marguerite Mutual Benefit Society. She volunteered in many different capacities in church and the club, and her generosity was further exemplified by taking two teen relatives, into her home, and raising them until adulthood.
Mary was a lifelong member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vincent de Paul site, in Mahoningtown, where she was a part of the 1937 Club and the Holy Rosary Society. Above everything, Mary enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her three daughters, Cynthia (Anthony) Perrotta-Gemma, Lynn (Mark) Francazio, both of Port St. Lucie, FL., and Mary Anne (Brad) Fusco of Warren, NJ; one son, Nick (Lynne) Perrotta of New Castle, PA; six grandchildren, Mark and Matthew Francazio, Celia and Angelo Fusco and Armande and Gabe Perrotta.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Patsy and John Perretta and one nephew, James Perretta.
A memorial service, officiated by Fr. Brendan Dawson, will be held on Jan. 8, 2022, at 1:00 pm, at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus Church, 314 W. Englewood Ave., New Castle, PA, 16105. The Perrotta family kindly requests that all those in attendance, please wear masks. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA 16105.
Eternal rest grant unto Mary, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
