Mary Ann Arcuri, 90, of New Castle passed away the evening of December 26, 2022 at UPMC Jameson. Born on November 19, 1932 in New Castle, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Lester and Anna Szeszko Kline. On August 30, 1952, Mary Ann married her beloved husband, Samuel S. Arcuri. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2012.
Mary Ann owned and operated Sammy’s Corner Mart along with her husband for many years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site. Mary Ann was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Penn State Fan. She was very involved with the New Castle Playhouse, enjoying singing and acting. Mary Ann also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and taking care of her pets.
Mary Ann is survived by her children, Lynn Lombardo (Raymond); Cindy Arcuri; Deborah Currie (Donald); Samuel V. Arcuri (Stacey); Rick Arcuri (Stephanie) and Thomas Bekele-Arcuri (Zewditu); her sister, Virginia Preisner (Thad), fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Kerr and brother, John Kline.
The family will receive friends on Friday 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A Mass of Christian Burial by celebrant Fr. Ben Barr will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church.
Eternal rest grant unto Mary Ann, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
