Now is the time! Our Savior came to heal us, forgive us our sins, and invigorate us with His Holy Spirit and new Hope. He does this most especially in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
This coming week you will have several opportunities to celebrate this most comforting and joyous sacrament. It takes a little effort, a little time, and some true sincerity on your part.
Make the effort and plan to celebrate the sacrament. Ready your heart with a good examination of conscience and be sincere about your resolve to reform your life. The Lord will handle the rest!
The priests of the parish are offering an additional opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament this coming week in St. Mary Church on Tuesday, March 28th, following the Noon Mass until 1:00PM. On Wednesday of this week (March 29th), there will be two opportunities for confession as part of The Light is on for You: St. Mary Church from 12:30PM till 2:00PM, and in the evening in St. Vitus Church from 6:30PM until 8:00PM. You will not want to miss the Living Stations of the Cross performed by our high school students on this Friday at St Vitus beginning at 7:00PM. This is a very prayerful and moving experience. It has become a very special part of Holy Spirit Parish’s Lenten practice. If you have experienced it in the past, you know exactly what I mean. If you have not, then I encourage you to attend this year.
Please keep our First HolyCommunion children and our candidates for Confirmation in your prayers, as well as our RCIA Elect and Candidates as they make their final preparation to receive the life of Christ in the Sacraments! Please join me in welcoming Matt Dess to our maintenance team. Matt, age 35, comes to us from UPMC Jameson. He attended Wilmington Area Schools, and his hobbies are reading and gaming. Matt is a welcome addition to our hard-working maintenance crew. Please remember the Easter Bread sales which continue this Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday; our final 2023 Fish Fry on March 31st; and the annual Easterfest on April 1st. See Pages 9-11 of this bulletin.
