Louise L. Hiler, 86, formerly of Mustang Ave. passed away the morning of December 2, 2021 at Edison Manor. Born on August 13, 1935 in New Castle, Louise was the daughter of the late Giuseppe J. and Bambina DeChellis Lalama. On August 25, 1956, Louise married her beloved husband, Harry N. Hiler, Sr. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2016.
Louise had worked at Liberty Mutual for several years and then had worked for the Office on Aging. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vincent de Paul site. Louise was an avid reader. She enjoyed visiting casinos, doing puzzle and word search books. She also enjoyed crocheting and doing needlepoint. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Louise’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.
Louise is survived by her children, Brenda Hanlon (Brian, Sr.) of Clinton, IL, Terry Johnson (Russell) of New Castle, her brother, Peter J. Lalama (Josephine) her sisters, Mary R. Lalama and Elvera M. Henderson, four grandchildren, Edward Lombardo (Michelle), Brian Hanlon, Jr. (Brittany), Jamie Edwards (Ryan) and Jaquala Johnson and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by her son, Harry Hiler, Jr., three brothers, Paul J. Lalama, Edward C. Lalama and John J. Lalama, four sisters, Emma Sidorchuck, Amelia Vasilycsik, Pauline Lalama and infant sister, Mary M. Lalama.
Visitation will be on Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St Vitus Church. Father Brendan Dawson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto Louise O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
