Kathleen M. Ragone, 77, of New Castle, passed away the morning of December 17, 2022 at Jameson Care Center. Born in New Castle on November 25, 1945, Kathy was the daughter of the late Peter and Stephanie Turco Scarnati. She is survived by her loving husband of over fifty-seven years, Joe Ragone, whom she married on May 22, 1965.
Kathy was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site. She retired from Central Heating & Plumbing where she worked as an administrative assistant in billing. Prior to that, Kathy had worked as a lab technician at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fontana, CA. Kathy enjoyed visiting casinos, club with her friends and shopping. She loved the times she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchild.
In addition to her husband, Kathy is survived by her children, Denise Vennum and husband, Mike, of Pittsburgh; Mark Ragone and wife, Christina, of New Castle; her brothers, Fred Scarnati and Anthony Scarnati and wife, Anita, both of New Castle; her grandchildren, Alexis Retort (Frank), Tanner Vennum, Parker Vennum, Aubrie Ragone and her great granddaughter, Mia Retort.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and sister-in-law Laura “Lolly” Scarnati.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. followed by a Blessing Service conducted by Fr. Benjamin Barr of Holy Spirit Parish at 12:30 pm at the funeral home.
Eternal rest grant unto Kathy, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
