Kathleen A. Devine-Lebby, of New Castle, passed away at Allegheny General Hospital on June 22, 2021. Kathy was born in Bellevue to Edward C. and Dolores (Knoerdel) Devine. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Glenn S. Lebby, whom she married on Oct. 6, 1990.
After graduating from Vincentian Academy in Ross Township, she attended Edinboro University and later received her master's degree in library science from the University of Pittsburgh. Over her lifetime, she was the librarian at several schools and public libraries, including Mars Elementary, Keystone Oaks, Northland Public Library, Girard Public Library, Cranberry Public Library and retired from the New Castle Public Library.
Kathy was a lover of nature and friend of all animals. She cherished raising the Keeshond breed of dogs and was also a master of Tae Kwon Do. She was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to her husband and her mother, she is survived by her twins, Rachel D. Lebby of Pittsburgh and Daniel J. Lebby of Chicago, Illinois; four brothers, Edward (Patty) Devine and Thomas (Cindi) Devine, all of Baden, and Robert (Lisa) Devine and Jack (Michelle) Devine, all of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 Friday morning for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church, 910 S. Mercer St., New Castle, with Father Joseph McCaffrey officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in Millvale.
