Karey Mae Korab, 47, of 407 East Edgewood Avenue passed away the afternoon of April 14, 2023, at her residence. Karey was born June 15, 1975, in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth Korab. He preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2007. Her mother, Mary Ann (Sesko) Korab, survives at home.
Karey was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish. Ms. Korab was a graduate of Kennedy Catholic High School, class of 1993. She continued her education at Point Park University in Pittsburgh. Ms. Korab was a bank manager for numerous years at the former Sky Bank in New Castle. She worked in the service industry for several local establishments as well. Karey had also previously owned a formal dress boutique.
Ms. Korab enjoyed professional modeling and was a trained classical pianist. she was also an animal lover and enjoyed volunteering for local companies with whom she had worked. She will be sadly missed by her friends and family who all held a special place in her heart. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, Mary Ann, Karey is survived by her two children, Mackenzie A. Korab and Matthew R. Lyngarkos, both of New Castle; sister, Kelly M. Korab of New Castle; and two grandchildren, Mia R. Cotelesse and Marshall R. Lyngankos, both of New Castle.
Ms. Korab was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, Kenneth M. Korab; uncle, John Sesko; and aunt, Bernice Koscinski.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. A Blessing Service will be held immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto Karey, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
