Karen M. Fortuna, 71, of Neshannock Township passed away the morning of April 6, 2023 at her residence. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 26, 1951, Karen was the daughter of the late Billy and Helen Sturm White. On September 13, 1975, Karen married her beloved husband, James A. Fortuna. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2022.
Karen worked at Jameson Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She had also worked for several local doctor’s offices until she retired. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus site. Karen was an avid reader. She enjoyed talking with all of her friends. A loving wife and mother, Karen’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her sons.
Karen is survived by her son, Andrew Fortuna and her brother, Robert White (Marilyn).
In addition to her parents and husband, Karen was preceded in death by her son, Dr. Allen (A.J.) Fortuna.
Visitation was Tuesday, April 11, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road. A procession left the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus Church. Father Joseph McCaffrey, Pastor officiated. Entombment was in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
Eternal rest grant unto Karen, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
