This weekend, we celebrate another of our seven churches’ Feast Days, that of St. James the Apostle in the New Bedford/Pulaski area. Our next feast day will be that of St. Mary. It will be celebrated on Monday, August 15th, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, at 6:00 pm in St. Mary Church. July, August and September tend to be the three most active months for vacations. Particularly July, because of school gearing up again in late August. If you are blessed to have some time away with family, please remember to invite the Lord on your vacation. Children are most impressed and instructed by our example. Many have told me of the powerful example they experienced vacationing as a family when their parents, even on vacation, took them to Mass. God will never be outdone in generosity. Any extra effort we make to worship Him, to serve Him, to love Him and to teach our children to do the same will not go unrewarded. If at all possible, while on vacation, worship the Lord and thank him for the blessings in your life, especially the gift of each other and this precious time to relax and rejuvenate. Nothing is more refreshing for our souls than being in our Lord's Eucharistic presence and being strengthened by Him in Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.
You may be able to find a Mass time and church at your location when traveling by using the internet site MassTimes at https://masstimes.org/When the MassTimes site opens, enter the city, state or zip code of the area you will be visiting and click on Find a Mass Near Me. Mass Times will open to a list of times available and the churches in the area with Masses at those times. In addition, there is an adjoining map with those churches pinpointed for your convenience.
BEST of the Fest will be here before you know it! (Friday, August 5th & Saturday, August 6th)
