Julie Ann Faraone, 87, of Edinburg passed away the morning of June 14, 2023 at her residence. Born in New Castle on April 28, 1936, Julie was the daughter of the late Charles D. and Elizabeth V. Tardelli Sbarro. Julie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony Faraone on August 4, 2008.
Julie worked as a Registered Nurse and supervisor at the former St. Francis Hospital until she retired after fifty-four years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Julie’s greatest joy was traveling and spending time with her family.
Julie is survived by her children, Debra Hansen (Dave) of Cumberland, RI and Patricia Valenti of Edinburg, her sister-in-law, Donna Faraone, three grandchildren, Nicole Valenti, Michael Valenti (Kayla) and David Hansen (Kyle) and three great-grandchildren, Kilye Weston, Enzo and Catarina Valenti.
In addition to her parents and husband, Julie was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Elizabeth Peak, mother and father-in-law, Rose and Pete Faraone, sister-in-law, Linda Faraone, nephew, Charles Sbarro Peak and son-in-law, Don Valenti.
Visitation will be on Friday 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home on Friday at 10:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Ben Barr at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoleum.
Eternal rest grant unto Julie, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
