The past year of 2020 was really a test of our faith in God and each other. As a parish, we currently have 252 families who are receiving the Stephens Ministry series of booklets, Journeying Through Grief, in support of their grief due to the death of a loved one. These families have lost spouses, parents, children, siblings, and friends. Many families have lost more than one person. In at least four cases, both husband and wife have died within weeks or months of each other. This leaves a huge hole in the family when they have not finished grieving one individual and another passes.
Twenty members of our Holy Spirit Parish family have been devoted to praying for these grieving families and sending out the booklets at intervals of 21 days, 3 months, 6 months, and one month before the anniversary of the death.
