Joseph V. (Skinny) Bullano, Jr., 98, of Neshannock Township, formerly of Friendship Street, passed away the evening of April 4, 2020 at his residence. Born on March 25, 1922 in New Castle he was the son of the late Joseph V. Bullano Sr. and Jennie DeLillo Bullano. On September 24, 1945, Joe married his beloved wife, the former Mary H. Mastren. She preceded him in death on December 5, 2011.
Joe had served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II, as part of the 101st Airborne Division. He had worked at Johnson Bronze as an inspector for twenty years. He later worked for the United States Post Office until he retired.
Joe was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site. He was a member of the St. Vitus Holy Name Society, where he was named Father of the Year. He was an avid bowler and golfer and he was proud of his hole in one accomplishment. Joe was a member of the VFW Post #315, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Disabled American Veterans.
Joe is survived by his two sons, Joseph Bullano, III and his wife Sandra, Robert Bullano and his wife Sue all of New Castle, two grandsons, Dr. Robert A. Bullano (Dr. Susan Bullano), Anthony J.V. Bullano (Courtney Bullano), and five great-grandchildren, Isiah, Kelly, Clara, Luca and Katie.
In addition to his parents and wife, Joe was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Samuel, John and Edward Bullano and an infant great grandson, Dylan I. Bullano.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Entombment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.
