Joseph J. “Scustie” Camerot, Sr., 85, of West Pittsburg passed away the morning of June 17, 2021 at UPMC Jameson. Born on December 2, 1935 in West Pittsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph and Philomena Carangie Camerot. Scustie is survived by his beloved wife, the former Deanna Popovich who he married on April 4, 1964.
In the early years Scustie had worked for the United States Postal Service. He later worked for the Pennsylvania Turnpike. He had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Scustie was an avid baseball fan. He enjoyed visiting casinos and horse track races. A loving husband, father and grandfather Scustie’s greatest joy was spending time and traveling with his family.
In addition to his wife, Scustie is survived by his son, Joseph Camerot (Terri), his daughter, Melissa Pascarella (Joe), his brother, Jack Camerot, two sisters, Carmella Bokros and Mariann Jones, and three grandchildren, Kayla Camerot, Alaina Pascarella and Ashton Camerot.
In addition to his parents, Scustie was preceded in death by one brother, Bernardino Camerot, one sister, Angeline Govojdean and his granddaughter, Alexis Krystine Camerot.
Honoring his wishes, services are private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.
Give Scustie eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on him forever. Let us find in your Son comfort in our sadness, certainty in our doubt, and courage to live through this hour. Make our faith strong through Christ our Lord. Amen.
