Joseph C. Monico, 83, of New Castle, passed away the evening of February 28, 2021 at Quality Life Services of New Castle. Born on September 18, 1937 in New Castle, Joe was the son of the late Ralph and Mary DeRitis Monico.
Joe had worked as Supervisor of Housekeeping at the former St. Francis Hospital. He retired after over forty years of service. He was also well known for his cooking at Joe Monico Catering for many years.
Joe was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site and also a member of The Holy Name Society. He will always be remembered for his years of service to the church and school cooking for the Parish Festival and all their other events.
Joe is survived by his brothers, Ronald Monico, Richard Monico (Dottie) all of New Castle and Eugene Monico (Sandra) of Tipp City, OH and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his two brothers, Nicholas Monico and Reginald Antenelli.
A Private Blessing Service will be held at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
