John E. "Jack" Boron, 75, of 149 Brewster Road passed away the morning of Sept. 17, 2019, at his residence. John was born on Oct. 11, 1943, in Norfolk, Virginia. John was a son of the late Walter Boron. His mother, the former Dorothy Young Boron, survives at home.
John was married to the late Jane Thomas Boron. She preceded him in death on July 17, 2013. They were married for 48 years. John was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1961. John continued his education at Slippery Rock University. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Westminster College and earned his master's degree in education. While attending Westminster College, he was a proud member of the international debate team. Mr. Boron retired after 30 years of service with the New Castle Area School District as an eighth-grade history teacher.
John was a member the Local 964 Labor Union for the past 40 years. Mr. Boron was a member the Polish Falcons Nest 146 and the Kasimir Pulaski Club. John was also a member of the Masons' Meridian Lodge 411 in Enon Valley. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandson, Justin.
In addition to his mother, Dorothy, John is survived by his two sons, Troy R. Boron and Jeff T. Boron, both on New Castle; a brother, Edwin (Charlene) Boron of Florida; a sister, Barbara (Serdar) Koyuncu of Lexington, Kentucky; and a grandson, Justin R. Boron. John was preceded in death by his father, Walter Boron; and his wife Jane Boron.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at the Noga Funeral Home, 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. A Blessing service will be held immediately following the visitation at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate.
