It is with great sadness that the family of Jeffrey G. Staph announces his passing on the evening of Friday, December 31, 2021, at UPMC Jameson, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Jeffrey, 53, a lifetime resident of Neshannock Township, was born on August 4, 1968 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late Kathleen Joseph Staph and Anthony J. Staph, Sr.
Jeffrey was a 1986 graduate of Neshannock High School, and thereafter, attended Youngstown State University before acquiring his real estate and later his broker license. Jeffrey was the father of two exceptional young men, Jared and Jacob Staph. There was nothing that meant more to Jeffrey than to have conversations about life’s lessons, Sunday dinners and weekday excursions with his sons.
Working alongside his Father, Jeffrey, Sales and Marketing Director of Castle Realty, became an accomplished real estate professional where he touched the lives of many, welcoming new families and businesses to our surrounding community. Admired and respected by his peers, Jeffrey was a perennial, leading sales agent in Lawrence County. He was a former President of the Lawrence County Board of Realtors and served on the organization’s committee for their annual golf outing.
Fondly and forever remembered as “Mr. Fun,” Jeffrey lived big and loved bigger. His persona will never be replicated. Jeffrey’s uncanny ability to create an energy at the smallest or the largest gatherings will be forever missed. A list of a man’s accomplishments can be researched, verified, written down and recorded, but the true love of a man can only be felt in the hearts of those who had the opportunity to spend any bit of time with him. To suggest that Jeffrey’s engaging personality reached the hearts of many would be an incredible understatement. A fanatical Steeler fan, the pre-game tailgate and post-game party were always more fun when Jeffrey was present - win or lose.
Jeffrey’s endeavors extended well beyond Mr. Fun. In support of his and the interests of his late Mother, Jeffrey contributed time and assistance to the fundraising efforts at St. John’s Maronite Parish. He was also a regular supporter of local youth and adult extracurricular activities and associations.
Jeffrey radiated a spirit of warmth, love and affection that will forever continue to live with us all. He will be greatly missed, always remembered, and never forgotten. We love and miss you Jeffrey…… your sons Jared and Jacob Staph; Dad, Anthony J. Staph, Sr.; Grandma, Mrs. Helen Joseph; your brother and sister-in-law, Anthony J. and Shellie Staph, Jr.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Nativio and Kelly and Michael Bonner; former spouse, Cathy Barker, all of New Castle; beloved nieces and nephews and more friends than can be recognized.
In addition to his loving mother, Jeffrey was preceded in passing by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph and Grace Staph and maternal grandfather, Mr. George Joseph.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 2:00 – 7:00 pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc, 2429 Wilmington Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 10:00 am at Holy Spirt Parish, St. Camillus Church. Procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Father Joseph McCaffrey will officiate. Entombment will take place at Castle View Mausoleum.
Eternal rest grant unto Jeffrey, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
