Jane T. DeMarco, 90, of New Castle passed away the morning of March 1, 2022 at UPMC Jameson. Born on May 27, 1931 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Josephine Monico DeMarco.
Jane was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site. She had been very involved with Catholic Charities for years. She was an avid New Castle Basketball fan and attended as many games as she could. Jane was known as the popcorn and candy lady at the games. She also enjoyed playing cards, dancing and going to Challenges. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Jane’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Jane is survived by her children, Kathy Carbone (Richard) and Angela Kordish (Dave) all of New Castle, her sister, Rose Canami of New Castle, eight grandchildren, Heather Cuscino, Melanie Carbone (Stephen Conti), Lisa Carbone, Ricky Carbone (Randi Sue), Brian Carbone (Victoria), Anthony Kordish (Sydney), Michael Kordish (Breyona) and David Kordish, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael “Blackie”, Dominick and Louis DeMarco and three sisters, Clara DeMattio, Mary Ango and Helen Carducci and her granddaughter Heather’s husband, Brian Cuscino.
Visitation will be on Friday 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A Blessing Service will be held on Friday at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Father Brendan Dawson of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate.
Eternal rest grant unto Jane, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
