James A. Lenhart, 84, of Wampum passed away the evening of March 3, 2020, at his home with family at his side. James was born on Dec. 17, 1935, in Wampum. He was a son of the late John J. and Sophia (Gumiezny) Lenhart. James married the former Elizabeth Falatko and together, they celebrated 61 years of marriage.
Mr. Lenhart was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Parish. He was a graduate of Shenango High School. Mr. Lenhart served his country in the during the Korean War, earning the medals of National Defense, Carbine (Marksman) and Good Conduct. James retired after 20 years of service as a steel worker at B&W. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. James enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. He was an avid deer and bird watcher. James was a past member of the Croatian Club of West Pittsburg.
James is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; children, James (Cynthia) Lenhart of Mineral Ridge, Ohio, Michele Edmiston of Wampum and David (Sharon) Lenhart of New Castle; brothers, John (Marian) Lenhart of Glenburnie, Maryland, William Lenhart of Neshannock Township, Walter Lenhart of Wampum, Richard Lenhart of Canfield, Ohio, and Robert (Martha) Lenhart of Auburn, Indiana; sister, Barbara Lenhart of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Stephanie (Justin) Bardash, Samantha (Jeff) Tucker, Benjamin Edmiston, Matthew (Maureen) Edmiston and Larry Armagost; and great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Julie.
James was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be private per James' wishes. At that time, Deacon Dan Kielar was to do a Blessing Service with a Military Honor Guard. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home Inc.
