Jack F. Carbon, 90, of Edinburg passed away the morning of July 10, 2022 at his residence. Born on February 12, 1932 in Hillsville, PA, Jack was the son of the late Dominick and Nellie Pascaline Carbon. Jack was married to his beloved wife, the former Jennie Pangallo. She preceded him in death in 1996.
Jack had worked as a foreman at Republic Steel in Youngstown for thirty years. He then worked for Mahoning Township as an equipment operator and also TC Redi Mix as a heavy equipment operator. Jack was a member of Holy Spirit Parish. He also had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Jack was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing cards and going hunting. Jack was known as a handyman and a jack of all trades, able to fix just about anything and known for his famous saying “Ut-so”. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather Jack loved spending time with his family and cooking for all the family gatherings. Jack is survived by his children, Lisa Albertini (David) of Edinburg and Dominick Carbon (Lisa) of Union Township, two sisters, Rosalie DeCarbo and Marian Stoner both of New Castle, three grandchildren, Anthony Albertini, Alexandria Carbon and Dominique Carbon and three great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Davien, and Chase.
Visitation will be on Tuesday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Rites at the funeral home on Wednesday.
A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Brendan Dawson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto Jack, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
