Herman (Mike) L. Duncan II of Hillsville passed away the morning of Sept. 18, 2020, at his residence. Born on Jan. 27, 1944, in Morgantown, West Virginia, he was preceded in death by his parents, Herman L. and Edith Thorn Duncan, and by his stepfather, Charles Snowdon. On May 15, 1965, Mike married his beloved wife, the former Joan Romeo, and she survives.
Mike had served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish. Mike had worked for Ponderosa Restaurants as a manager in Canton, Ohio, and in Sharon and New Castle, Pennsylvania.
Mike was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling. He also liked to attend car shows and always took pride in keeping his cars clean. Mike was known for his delicious fudge that he made.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Mike's greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.
In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his children, Michael Duncan (June) of Bessemer and Kristine Domenick (Joe) of Hillsville; and his two grandchildren, Aidan Domenick and Kayla Domenick.
A private Memorial Service will be held for the family at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
