Helen G. Fazzolare, formerly of Edinburg passed away the morning of October 29, 2023 at Carriage Manor. Born in New Castle on June 25, 1921, Helen was the daughter of the late Sam and Marie Marchelletta Ross. On June 28, 1947, Helen married her beloved husband, Frank “Fuzzy” Fazzolare. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2006.
Helen was a member of the former St. James Apostle Church and Christian Mothers of the Church, now Holy Spirit Parish. When she was younger, Helen enjoyed dancing and going bowling. When she still lived in her own home, She enjoyed cooking and baking and having her cats nearby. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Helen’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Helen is survived by her two children, Sherryn Syphard (Jay Miller) of Pulaski, PA, and Jacki Dean (Robert) of New Castle; four grandchildren, Jason Syphard (Kate Huffman), Darrick Dean (Annette), Kristy Dean and Tracy Shaner (Wade); and four great-grandchildren, Ross Shaner, Tori Shaner, Kaylee Shaner and Logan Dean.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Anthony, John, Andrew, Domenick and George Ross and her sisters, Gertrude Valensi, Ann Bidinotto, Mary Policella, Lucy Ross and Violet (Minnie) Carna.
Visitation will be on Wednesday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road. A Funeral Service will follow on Wednesday at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Matthew Bupp will officiate. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto Helen, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
