George H. Forster, Sr., 81, of Neshannock Township passed away the afternoon of January 16, 2023 at his residence. Born on February 15, 1941 in Appleton, Wisconsin, George was the son of the late Harold W. and Frances Barrett Forster. On April 20, 1963 George married his beloved wife, the former Lucille L. Pagley. She preceded him in death on June 24, 2020.
George was an electrician by trade and had worked in Lordstown, Ohio for General Motors Corp. for thirty- five years until he retired. He had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy from 1958 to 1961. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site.
George was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time at his camp, going hunting and fishing. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, George’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.
George is survived by his children, Nadine Kirkwood (Michael “Bub”), Michele Riedlin (Carl) and George Forster, Jr. (Rose), one sister, Patty Maiella, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Honoring his wishes there are no calling hours. Family and friends will meet on Friday at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Father Aaron Kriss will officiate. Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoleum. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Eternal rest grant unto George, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
