Gary D. Carbone, 66, of Youngstown, Ohio passed away the evening of September 19, 2020 at UPMC Hamot. Born on June 25, 1954 in New Castle, he was the son of the late John Carbone, Sr. and Diana J. Viggiano Carbone. On August 30, 1975 Gary married his beloved wife, the former Phyllis J. Consiglio. She preceded him in death on June 16, 2009.
Gary had worked for Universal Rundle as a finisher for over thirty years, until he retired. Gary was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Site. Gary enjoyed going fishing and watching sports. A loving father and grandfather, Gary’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.
Gary is survived by his children, Amy Masters of New Castle, Jessica Carbone, Nicole Carbone, Brian Carbone and Eric Carbone all of Youngstown, Ohio, his brother, John Carbone, Jr. of Edinburg, his sister, Janet Pelto of Edinburg and eight grandchildren, Mackenzie, Elizabeth, Madison, Alivia, Andre, Artegus, Lisa and Ardessa.
Visitation will be on Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. Visitors are required to adhere to CDC guidelines regarding wearing masks and using social distancing. A Blessing Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Seminarian Merv E. Knieriem of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
Lord God, you are attentive to the voice of our pleading. Give Gary eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on him forever. Let us find in your Son comfort in our sadness, certainty in our doubt, and courage to live through this hour. Make our faith strong through Christ our Lord. Amen.
