Francis V. Adamo, 74, of New Castle, passed away the morning of March 22, 2022 at Quality Life Grove City. Born on November 4, 1947 in New Castle, Francis was the son of the late Victor and Bertha Tempesta Adamo. Francis is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-five years, the former Isabella MacLean who he married on September 16, 1967.
Over the years, Francis had worked for Universal Rundle, the Brewster Company, Shenango China, NEPCO and Portola Packing. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site. Francis had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era, stationed in Guam.
Francis was a long-time member and past Commander of the New Castle Area Honor Guard. He also belonged to the American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Coachmans Club. Francis was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed working on cars. A beloved husband, father and grandfather, Francis’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.
In addition to his wife, Francis is survived by his children, Dean Adamo and his wife, Gerri, John Adamo and his companion, Adrianna Barragan, all of New Castle, Thomas Adamo and his companion, Kasey Prescott, of Homer, PA., one sister, Marcia Ellis of Sunrise, FL, one sister-in-law, Tomasina Adamo of New Castle and seven grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Francis was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Beth Ann Adamo and brother, Vincent D. Adamo.
Visitation will be on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Brendan Dawson will officiate. Burial will be in the Veterans Section of Parkside Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Rites at the Cemetery on Friday.
Eternal rest grant unto Francis, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
