Frances M. Dzemyan, 88, of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania passed away the morning of April 14, 2020 at UPMC Jameson. Born on September 2, 1931 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late James (Sosto) and Jennie Geraci Medure. On February 14, 1953 Frances married her beloved husband, Steven Robert Dzemyan. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2001.
Frances was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, and a former member of St. Michaels Church. Frances enjoyed doing volunteer work at her church, she was a member of the Ladies Guild of the church and The Holy Rosary Society. Frances loved to bake and was known for her wedding cookies and nut rolls. A loving wife, mother and grandmother her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.
Frances is survived by her children, Toni Aliskowitz and her husband, Brian, of Pittsburgh, Stephen John Dzemyan and his wife, Gayle, of Slippery Rock, Robert Michael Dzemyan and his wife, Cindy, of New Castle, Michael Joseph Dzemyan and his partner, Darlene Johnson, of Hillsville, her brother, Angelo Medure of New Castle, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by her brothers, Victor, Anthony Sr., Frank, Dominick, Peter, John, and Samuel Medure, her brother, James DeMase, and her sister, Antonette Thomas.
Due to the current health crisis within our community a Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 South Mill St.
