What a blessing it has been to have the replica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in our midst. I hope many of you have taken advantage of the opportunity of learning more of her story and perhaps meditating in the presence of her image. My family has always had a deep devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe. I have shared the reasons for that devotion on many occasions so that I won’t bore you here. Suffice it to say her apparitions in Guadalupe are beyond count. A Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe: Our Lady of Guadalupe, my mother, into your hands joined in prayer, take my prayers, petitions and hopes, and present them to Jesus for me. Remembering the love and care your hands rendered to Him, He will not refuse what they hold now, even though they are from me. Amen In a world that has lost respect for human life from conception to natural death, we need the witness of Our Lady of Guadalupe and her intercession more than ever. My sincere gratitude to Cathy Frank and her committee and the Knights of Columbus for their dedicated service in bringing the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe to our parish family.
Meteorologically, February is often considered the coldest month of the year in our part of the world. The words of Our Lady to St. Juan Diego, “Do not to fear, for I am your mother and I am with you” invigorate our spirits.
On February 7th I will be giving a Day of Recollection via ZOOM to the college level seminarians studying at Conception Abbey in Missouri. Please keep these seminarians and me in your prayers so that our time together will be beneficial and fruitful according to the Lord’s will.
