Elizabeth A. “Betty” Colaprete, 88, of formerly of New Castle passed away the morning of November 12, 2023 at Caprice Health Care Center in Ohio. Born in Masury, Ohio on May 6, 1935, Betty was the daughter of the late Walter and Catherine (Pillow) Yeager. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard R. Colaprete, in July of 1994.
Betty had worked as a nurse’s aide at Humility of Mary Convent. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. James the Apostle site, where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Betty enjoyed square dancing and playing cards. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Betty’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.
Betty is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Gigliotti and Denise Summers (Dave), three grandchildren, Brian Gigliotti, Kevin Gigliotti and Gina Richman -Norman and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Yeager, Jr.
Honoring her wishes there are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Benjamin Barr will officiate. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Eternal rest grant unto Betty, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
