Edwin F. “Eddie” Meyers, 72, of Union Township passed away on May 6, 2023 following a valiant battle with illness at Sharon Regional Hospital. Eddie was born in New Castle on February 17, 1951. He was the son of the late Edwin C. and Margaret Carney Meyers. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, the former Carol Martino, whom he married on March 10, 1973.
A proud graduate of Shenango High School, Eddie was able to enjoy a rewarding career on the Pennsylvania Turnpike until retirement.
Eddie was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site. He was passionate about the outdoors and loved animals. From a young age, his love for riding horses led him to show them as well and sparked interest in the care and showmanship for dogs. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, particularly deep-sea fishing off the Florida coast with his daughter, Amy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving daughter, Amy Meyers, two Godchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A Blessing Service follows visitation on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish officiating.
Eternal rest grant unto Eddie, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
