Edwin "Eddie" Crawford, 78, died Sept. 18, 2019. He was born Dec. 13, 1940, in Pittsburgh to the late Christian B. and Ida J. (Davis) Crawford.
He was a graduate of Laurel High School and earned his bachelor's degree in horticulture from Penn State. He was a member of FFA.
He married Betty Penjamin in 1961, and together they raised four children.
Eddie worked in the steel industry for 50 years as a welder and owned Crawford Landscaping. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, loved the outdoors, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His hobbies were painting and photography.
Besides his wife of 58 years, Betty Crawford, surviving are his daughters, Cindy Crawford, Kathy (Eric) Macri and Becky (Travis) Bintrim; grandaughters, Taylor (Jason) Wetzel, Kayci Bintrim and Ellie Crawford; grandsons, Evan Macri, TJ and Brayden Bintrim, and Derris Sims; great-granddaughter, Alaina Wetzel; great-grandson, Brantlee Wetzel; sister, Joan (Ron) Aller; nephews, Michael and Gary Crawford; nieces, Nichole Harding, Rhonda Haynes and Laura Aller; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides his parents, preceding him in death were his son, Brian Crawford, and brother, Chris Crawford.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at the Noga Funeral Home, 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Parish, New Castle. The Rev. Brendan Dawson will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery - I.S.A.L.Y.S.
